On March 28, 2024 we received an email notifying us that our long-time distributor SPD (Small Press Distribution) had abruptly closed, leaving our inventory of 3,000 books stranded in an Ingram warehouse in central PA. SPD also owed us a significant amount of sales income when they closed, and we don’t know if or when we’ll ever receive those funds. While we are now working to find a new distributor, it’s become clear that we are facing a loss of income as well as the need to recover our books at our own expense. As always, the best way to support any small press—like us and the 385 others that were working with SPD at the time of their sudden shutdown—is to order books from them directly.
